About Your RDN

   Hey there!  My heart is full knowing that you've taken the time out of your day to learn more about fueling your body from a place of non-judgement, curiosity, and genuine care for your body!


 If you're a part of the DBN community on YouTube or Instagram, you might be curious to know a little more about me, your (fave) Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Personal Trainer (RDN/CPT)!


 I'm endlessly passionate about helping others embrace their intuition and make peace with food & exercise, in a way that guides, rather than nit-picks, your diet/routine. I won't tell you exactly what you "can" and "can't" eat, because I know the ultimate way to making peace with food is having acceptance and space for all foods.


 Some fun facts about me: For those of you Meyer's Brigg's fans, I'm an INFJ (If you haven't taken this personality test, you need to!) Beyond nutrition and fitness, I'm a huge cat lover, love a good cup of coffee, and am always looking for a new book to read.


   I first became interested in nutrition after making poor choices that drastically effected my health as a teenager.  I started reading about healthy eating and  habits for the mind and body, and I began to see drastic changes.  There's no magic bullet to anything, but it's amazing how much nutrition changed my life!  The foods you eat effect your energy levels, mood, your body's ability to handle stress, and so much more.  My #1 goal as your dietitian is to make nutrition simple and intuitive, so you can live your life in the healthiest way possible, without obsessing over it or letting in take over you life! 


  Dark Blue Nutrition offers something for every type of learner! You can get one-on-one nutrition coaching, the Mindful Muscles Nutrition Guide, and free content on my YouTube channel, Podcast and Blog. There's a little something for every type of learner! 

Nutrition Philosophies

   In a nutshell, I don't believe in having the "perfect diet".  It's all about balance!  Do I eat pizza? Ice cream? Cookies? Yep! Do I eat plenty of fruits and veggies and lean proteins? Yep! Do I always have a perfect balance in my life?  Nope! I'm human just like you!  


What I can tell you is that I have an endless passion for learning about nutrition and its impact on mental health, hormones, & stressors, mindful & intuitive eating, and so much more. So why "Dark Blue"?

So what significance does the color blue make? Where does "Dark Blue" come from?


Totally valid question! 


To any music lovers out there, the idea originated from a song "Dark Blue" by Jack's Mannequin. As a color nerd, the theme of "dark blue" stuck with me.  It reminded me of peaceful and calm energy, something that resonated with the attitude that helped me heal my own relationship with food. 


If you're into color theory like me, all colors have a certain energy to them.  Colors really impact our mood, and our mood impacts what colors we gravitate to. The color dark blue is commonly associated with calm, healing, peacefulness and intuition. 


To me, everything about Dark Blue Nutrition radiates this energy! I want nutrition to be a topic that can be judgement-free, calm, and communicated in a way that embraces openness and curiosity.
